ENRICH in China organised an Innovation Tour to China from May 6th to 11th in the cities of Shanghai, Wuxi and Chengdu. This mission offered the participants a unique opportunity for matchmaking within the Intelligent Manufacturing sector, opening a world of business, research and innovation cooperation opportunities in these three cities.
In Shanghai participants had the chance to meet experts from the Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025 to discuss the state of the art and the future of the sector for EU-China cooperation. The “EU-China Intelligent Manufacturing Conference” counted with the presence of over 100 participants. Still in Shanghai, the delegation visited the Huangpu Riverside, where a museum on the industrial development of Shanghai will be built.
The delegation then moved to Wuxi, where ENRICH in China co-organised the “2018 Wuxi Sino-European Innovation Cooperation Seminar”. More than 120 Chinese and European R&D stakeholders gathered and attended this event. Two companies from the delegation signed Memorandums of Understanding with Chinese counterparts. The next day, the delegation also had the chance to visit the Wuxi Research Institute supported by the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST). Additionally, the Taihu Government received the delegation to meet and engage with local representatives.
The ENRICH in China Innovation Tour delegation then travelled to Chengdu, participating in the celebration of the Europe Day and attending the “EU-China S&T and Innovation Cooperation Seminar”. During the seminar, which focused on the Horizon 2020 Programme, the Tour participants had the chance to present their organisations and projects to the audience. On the last Tour day, the delegation visited the Tongwei Group, a major Chinese company that works mainly with agriculture and energy, in Chengdu.
“The ENRICH in China Tour was a well-organised mission that allowed participants to find out many potential partners and means for cooperation. Activities such as conferences, B2B meetings and social events have been a great opportunity for networking and promoting our work and future objectives. I truly believe that thanks to our participation, we will be able to create a competitive consortium for applying to upcoming H2020 calls in the scope of Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025.” - Dr. Borja Ramis, Project Manager and Teacher, Tampere University of Technology
